What they're talking about for that box isn't what most people think about when you talk laminating. Normal laminating is like when you laminate a card with two pieces of plastic to protect it from liquids and such. I believe the laminate that they are talking about is the kind of laminated wood like you would buy for kitchen counter tops where it's particle board with a thin sheet of pressed wood painted or stained a certain color glued down to the particle board. I think if you're wanting the shiny look then it would probably be better to fiberglass the front of the box and paint it as after time and the extreme heat inside a vehicle during summer days would eventually make the glue loosen up and cause problems.

yea but it also would be held on to the box by the 8 or so screws for the each sub. but the fiberglass thing might work and then just get a flat black or what ever to get the same effect because fiberglass can make it look really shiny,

there are high temp glues for that

which would you think would be easyer and still look good.

sanding fiberglass smooth enough to make it look the same as the laminate is a lot of work, cutting the laminate straight and getting it glued on just right may be a bit difficult too
