Autozone Air filter!!! And in your case with an adapter. But those work fine in my book.

A filter is a filter..dont get tricked by over priced bs like K&N. Yeah some can be better than others but the most expensive doesn't make it the best.

well with K&N filters and other expensive ones you can clean yourself...which in the end DOES make them worth it

just my opinion

As most will tell you and some already have. A filter really is just that, a filter. If you have the money and want to spend it on a brand name, go for it. But a cheapo will do just fine as well.

K&N s are worth the dough

Why? Because they advertise all over the place? They show a picture of a car, their filters/intakes, and say 9.2 added hp? Not singling you out, just stating that how do we know that the autozone $15 filters and the K&N are not identical? Anyone dyno these? Any air flow readings?

K&N has good advertising, I give them that, but that's about all I give them. I'm not willing to spend huge money on a filter. I do however buy their filter cleaning kit, but that's expensive also. It's cheaper to just buy a new $15 filter when I need it and hose it down every now and then than to buy a cleaning kit IMO.

Rant done. Ya for waking up at 5am!

Well just in my experience I had a ractive filter on my car when I bought it. It seemed to add extra zoom and what seemed like a cool whistle sound at wide open throtle. I desided to go completely over the car within the first few months of owning it and when I went to clean the MAF, I found that the middle of the filter had metal insert that had come unglued. The piece had been rattling around inside for who knows how long with the previous owner, letting all kinds of crap get sucked into the engine.

That may have been a bad experience, I'm not saying that bang for the buck K&N is always the way to go. But what I have found in the past is big name companies with expensive products and a huge fan base likes to stay on top and will invest big $$$$ in research in order to remain in their position in the market.

I just use one I found at the parts store. I dont really see anything wrong with getting a nice filter if you have the money, but I have seen some that are like 125$. Come on now thats just insane.

Yeah I just took off the intake housing right from the tube. I got an APC filter and used the adapters that came with it. I used the clamps that came with it. I saved some weight which is always a plus. Sounds really cool at 6k. Sorry, but its a start. Just got the car Friday.
