Ive got this piece of crap 1995 Hyundai Accet.. I know, I should never have bought the thing, Im in the process of selling it - $1000 if interested :)
Anyway, it has a small problem.. I dont think its too expensive to fix. When I start the car in the morning (or first time of the day) it starts perfect. I park it and leave it, and when I try to start it again 10-30 minutes later, it wont start. It cranks and cranks, but wont start. Sometimes it makes an electrical clicking noise (sounds like a turn signal) and then it will USUALLY start. Ive never gotten stranded anywhere, because it always starts eventually, it just takes a while to start it back up sometimes (as long as 10 minutes). Its really annoying, and im going to take it to a mechanic to see what he thinks it is... Im betting hes gonna try and stick me with a big bill.
Let me know if you know whats wrong. I have a few ideas but I havent tried anything yet.

I had the same problem as you describe. My mechanic tried a bunch of things, then found that he had to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.... now it runs like a charm. It did cost around $200 to replace it though.
About the only problem is have now is that my radio gets a lot of static when the engine is running and tuned to an AM station. If I turn off the engine, the static goes away and the radio sounds fine. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix this, I'd love to hear it.
all the best,
Pete

The head unit has lost it's radio shielding for whatever reason. I've had computer sound cards do it in the past. You'll most likely have to replace your head unit.

yes it could well be the c. p.s. but check out the main engine sensor,(don,t know on your,s where it,s located)but if you listen you should be able to trace it,give it a tap when your problem occurs and see what happens.
