Ok, so moms 2005 Taurus won't start. She says it was running fine, she got out of the car and got back in 5 min later and it wouldn't start. I don't think it's the battery, the windows and seats move just as fast as normal. (tried to jump it anyway, no difference) When I try and turn it over it just clicks and the engine light and Theft light flash at the same time as the clicks. It won't even try and turn over. Could it be something with the anti-theft? Is there a way to fix this without taking it to a dealership?

i'll tell you this much, it doesnt sound likely you'll solve the problem without a technician.

Sounds like if you are getting clicks, you have a current/voltage issue for the starter solenoid/relay. Remove the battery cables and clean them, then securely reattach them to the battery. If that has no effect, you may need to pull the battery and have it load tested.
Have you tried using a battery jump start pack to get the car started when you are getting the clicking?
The starter draws a lot more current than the power seats, power windows, and other accessories.

If it's clicking it's definitely not the anti-theft. I would do what Rod has suggested first. Check your grounds too.
