I just bought a 95 new yorker. The gauges freeze after it warms up. Then it over heats beacause the fans stop working. It also starts smoking and running poor. I changed the ignition switch but it didnt fix it. Its an intermitant problem. Some times, like right now, if i shut it off before it gets to hot, it wont start back up, only runs for like 3 sec. and all the gauges are dead.
What do I do ?????:banghead:

Sounds obvious but I'd check the battery connections. I've had problems with this. How hard was it to change the ignition switch? On my '97 LHS the heater goes off sometimes because of the ignition switch.

The ignition switch was easy to replace.
I figured out my problem. It was my pcm (powertrian control module) up under the air cleaner. It was full of sand and dirt and when i wiggle the connection to it all my problems start again. The actual board inside is bad and i will need to replace it.
Does anyone know if a 98 model pcm from an intrepid will work?

Call or go to your local wrecking yard. If they have half a heart they will tell you. " HONEYGOO" is a great tool for a Chryco. Spray the crap out of ALL the connects ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
