Only 106 owner here?
Here's a pic of my special edition 106 Quiksilver :D
I've owned the 106 for 2 years now and have slowly modified it with...
16" alloy wheels
ECU remapped by Superchips
Lowered suspension front and back
Pipercross induction kit
Remus rear silencer
Matt :D

Welcome to AF! :D
I'm afraid that may be true, Matt. Personally I've never even seen one, as they aren't available in the U.S. :(
But we do have people here from all over the world, so I'm sure there'll be someone to swap stories with. :)
Why's yours called a "Quiksilver?" ;) She's a beaut, by the way.

Cheers for the welcome :D
My cars called a Quiksilver because Peugeot were granted the licence to use the surfing brand Quiksilver's logo on their cars.
The 106 Quiksilver differs from other 106 models, it has the same body kit as a 106 GTi, Quiksilver logo's on the seats, white dials, and a 1.4cc engine (the GTi has a 1.6 16valve engine, other 106's are either 1.1cc or 1.5cc diesels).
Here's an updated picture taken earlier today at a club meeting.........

I know Toyota's got a deal here with Roxy, a division on Quiksilver, to sell Roxy-badged ECHOs... But your car seems a bit cooler than the poor ECHO. :) :flash:

I'm not into surfing myself but in places like Cornwall and Devon surfing is really popular.
Glad you like my car :D I've spent nearly £4000 on it since I've had it  but when people stop and watch as you drive past or the car is on the front row of the club stand at one of the UK's biggest show's it makes it all worthwhile :D

Hi Buddy!
My previous car was a 106 GTI, quite well known iof you do the owners club scene, R10 PUG was the plate.
I will get some pics up.
But most of this site is States based, so yeah, you my find yourself alone!
What suspension you got on it? I still have some 106 GTI front springs and shocks lying about, only covered about 4000 miles. Also standard rear silencer, mint, and a de-cat pipe, never used!
Also, passenger side front body kit arch, never used!

Hi Guiddy
Can't say I've seen your old GTi around but with a plate like that should'nt be to hard to spot :D
I'm using PI springs on the front with the standard shocks. Have thought about uprating the shocks but the standard ones are fine for now. If the de-cat pipe fits a Quiksilver I might be interested in buying if your selling??

Ok, here is a pic. The best ones are at a mates house, I must pic them up!
The best thing I have is five minutes of video from Mira '99, the Peugeot Sport Club day.
The car went round the track like a rocket, the Pipercross Filter and Magnex exhaust howling like a good 'un!
I was passing the camera man at 7000 rpm!
The front is lower, the fact I am washing the car on a slope has made it sit back on the hand brake.
The de-cat pipe was for the GTI . If you can find out if it fits, you are welcome to buy it!

:) No you are not the only 106 owner here. I have a 99 Rallye 16v. It has the Peugeot Sport air intake, free-flow exhaust and a superchip. I tuned the cams on the dyno and I managed to get 145,4 hp. The owner of the dyno was impressed considering the limited mods. Apart from that I have Eibach springs, OSRAV fully adjustable shocks and Brembo disks. It is fast and corners REALLY good.

the quiksilver is a nice looking wee car but its a shame that the engine isnt very tuneable. I considered getting one coz of the group 5 insurance but there was very little in the way of engine mods... just things like an exhaust and air filter...
the rallye is a wikkid little motor too and feels like a proper mini racer! i like my gti though coz even as standard the only hot hatch that will kill it would be the cliosport 172's and V6's... but wot the hey! sweet car...go buy one!

Hey Matt Nice quiksilver, Ive owned mine for a year now and have modded it quite a lot, 15" league integeras, Pipercross filter, Lowered 50mm on back and 40mm on front, De-badged, Front Cossie style front splitter, 1 off Big spoiler designed for 206 but adapted in a body shop to fit my 106. Ive also had a EVO 6 bonnet vent cut into my bonnet :). I havent any resent pictures only ones before most of the modding but have just done the front end in on black ice:mad: . Anyway getting to the question I see you have had your ECU remapped did you find much of an improvement in performance doing this? And if so how much did it cost to have done?
I will upload some of the pics I have of the car then once I rebuild the front end again I will upload the pics of the car modded.
Cheers

Hi all...
I`m a fellow 106 maniac from Athens Greece.
I`ve just registered as a new member and i hope that i`ll add something
to your forum conversations...I`m currently driving a Peugeot 106 16v rallye. The car wears a full Jenvey 45mm 4-throttle body kit ,with Kent 272 degrees cams, new reprogrammable Haltec emu, full Magnex exhaust kit, and many other engine mods that i cant post because of my poor english.
Other than that, the suspension is totally replaced by a Bilstein GroupN with Proflex springs (4cm lowering, 300 libs) and a bigger (24) torsion bar...I also upgraded the differential to LSD ( Limited Slip Differential )...The car now, produces about 195hp at shaft (122hp was from factory) at 8.700rpm.
My other mods are:
Speedline Rally-7 16s alloys.
Yokohama A539 tyres.
Momo streetracer bucket seats.
Momo competition wheel.
Short shift gear changer.
Twin Morette headlambs.
Tinted windows.
Tinted rear clusters.
Rear cluster eyebrows.
106 maxi, rear spoiler.
modified bonnet, impreza WRC look.
I think thats all...
I`m currently thinking of upgrade the looks of the car, by putting a 106 Maxi full bodykit...
Here`s a photo driving my car in a race track (Megara track),during a clubs track day...At that point the car was fully modified engine wise, but not yet finished exterior side....I will post some new photos the soonest possible...

Hi Chris.....
Sorry I have'nt answered sooner but here goes..............
Since having the Superchip I've lost the flat spot between first and second and the acceleration through the gears is noticeably better :D
As for the cost.... Well.... One of my friends is a Superchip's dealer so I got it a lot cheaper than normal ;)
Just had me Quiksilver rolling roaded and got..... 81 bhp @ the flywheel
60 bhp @ the wheels. Was hoping for a bit more seeing as I've taken the cat off but looks like there's room for improvement :D
cheers :D

Hi to all you 106 owners.
All your cars look great - I especially like th Gold GTi. Just a quick question - why did some of you guys buy the Quicksilver model???? Surely you'd have been better off with the 106's twin - the Saxo VTR - more power (100bhp stock) and more mods available and free insurance??? all for £8995 now Just a thought.....

No. The Quicksilver did have Hubcapos untill 1999 then it came with the same alloys as the GTI. The only noticable difference (look wise) between them is the interior as the GTI usually comes with leather. oh and the badges under the wing mirrors.:D

I'd agree it's more like the 10.35, defenatly quicker than the 12 odd secs its quoted as on parkers etc.
