Hey guys, I just picked me up an 03 Black Sportside Ext. Cab Z-71. I dont believe it has the Bose, but it has the 6 Speakers. Dont know enough about it yet. Im very good at car audio, but the question I have is, do I need speaker adapters for my new Focal 6 1/2inch components? I would pop the door panel off and check, but I would have to walk down three flights of stairs, on crutches. Thats what I get for not wearing my seatbelt in a highspeed truck rollover. Anyway, if I do, anyone have any suggestions for getting them online? Cant really go into a store and buy alot of things, because I cant carry anything out of the store. Thanks!

Well if the speaker grills in the door say bose on them..or if you have tweeters in the pillers then you have a Bose system...if not I would assume that speaker hook up would be simple just like any other system..but I don't know a lot about audio system installation maybe some one else could chime in on that part...By the way sorry to hear about the accident been in a roll over myself with a bad outcome so I know where your coming from..

Thanks I appreciate it. Mine was a bad outcome aswell. Mediflighted and everything. Im still recovering and still cant walk.

But anywho, It doesnt say Bose and the tweeters are in the door next to the mids. I wasnt sure if it was bose or not, because the OEM CD player thats in there now, isnt the same one that it came with, I dont think. Came with two, one in the truck and one laying in the back seat.

If there are stock Speakers in it now you should just be able to snip the connectors off the stock speakers and still use the wires that go to the existing speakers.

Well the thing is, is that I am putting in an all new stereo. Running the front speakers off of an amp, sub off a sperate amp and running a Pioneer Premier deck.

Anyone know of the stereo wiring harness that isnt the Class II? I dont care about my chimes. I had one on my Pontiac and regretted it. It cost too much. $100+ I just want the regular one.

if you have onstar and want to keep it you need a interface harness. if not you can use a metra 80-2003 or 70-2003 from cc or bb about 18- 20 bucks. you will have to run a accesory power wire to fuse panel or ign harness.

Nobody suggested crutchfield.com ? Is that a bad word here? They idiot proof just about anything I try to do on my trucks audio/video, pricing seems good too.......
