Another review model that's now published so I can show it off here :)

This is AMT's 2006 Camaro Concept; quite possibly their last newly-tooled kit ever if someone doesn't buy them and keep going.

It's OOB for the review; I painted it Tamiya Bright Red to match the LA car show Camaro. Some people prefer the Dodge Challenger, but I love the Camaro concept. The design works for me! The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the "orthodontic" grille, but even that's growing on me.

I had no problems w/the build, everything went together pretty well. There are a few missing engravings, I added a cut line to completely separate the front bumper from the fender, but I completely forgot to scribe a line to separate the trunk lid from the rear panel (should go across the top of the taillights all the way across). Oh well, maybe I'll put a thin black decal line there someday. I've also thought about putting some vintage black stripes on it, perhaps even a black vinyl roof, now that it's been published. Though I like it just fine as-is. Revell has a curbside kit of the Camaro coming out, I wonder if they'll improve upon this one? I hope they properly engrave everything.

I gave this model a pretty good review. A few missing engravings isn't a huge deal on what's essentially a really inexpensive model car. Good engine/interior/chassis detail, it's obviously based on a revised RWD platform that's almost identical to the Holden/GTO.

Hey, you haven't told you had the original thing in your garage!!!:grinyes:

It's amazing! I haven't seen a kit in red (I painted mine silver), but it definitely looks really great! Looking at your pictures I think it looks even better in red than in silver!

As for the kit, me neither had problems, so I think this is a good kit, better than other AMT kits I bought earlier.
Thanks for sharing, I love your pics!

I love your camaro! But you could put a bit more of detail in the engine.

Thanks. The exhaust hangs down a bit, and it does have a full engine. The block design is a bit :screwy: as all of AMT's modern blocks are. Though you really can't see the inaccuracies when it's all assembled.

That was an AWESOME movie!! And the Camaro used for Bumble Bee looked soooooo nice!! (though it was actually a GTO with a camaro skin on it)

Bob that last picture could fool anyone. It looks real!
Another great build!
I was wondering how your wheels were? Did you have dimpled wheels? If so did you fill them and use alclad?
Thanks!
Chris

Still can't stand that undetailed lump of a motor... Not that that's your fault. Awesome build either way.

I think when I finally get around to building this car, I'm gonna steal an LS1 from another kit and put it in there.

Thanks. My camera wouldn't autofocus on the model in that shot (the front was out of focus), so I had to do a manual focus much further away than usual (2-3 feet, vs. under a foot), so the perspective is a lot more like a 1:1 shot.

I would say "read the review" about the wheels  , but that picture was mixed up w/someone else's radiator :shakehead ; my wheels were okay. I've got two Camaro kits and both sets of wheels are satisfactory, I have seen some w/really bad sink marks. I brushed a good coat of Acryl semigloss clear on the chrome to get the finish looking closer to the factory finish.

It's a very nice build although!
I had this kit too, I think it's not as good as you think. But seeing your work, I have trust!
