The other day i drove home from school and the car ran fine i let it sit for about an hour while i waited to go to work. when i got back in the car i started the engine and i noticed that the battery light was faintly on. i turned the car off and turned it back on again and still the same thing the battery light was faintly visible. left it at home so my dad could check out some of the basics. battery read around 12 volts when car was off around 14 volts when car was running. if you rev it up the light goes out until it returns to idle then it is barley visible. i drove it to school the next day and every time i came to a stop and pushed in the clutch the rpms would drop to around 300 and the light was on along with the brake light but they were both barely visible. when the car sits at idle with the parking brake off you can see the battery light and the barke light slightly.

when i have it started up the lights on high beams on radio on and blower on the voltage at the battery is around 13 volts turn everything off it goes back up to 14volts. i checked the belt and wires on the alternator, cleaned the terminals at the battery and still the lights wont go away.

any help would be greatly appreciated

not 100% but it sounds like your voltage regulator is crapin out...check your battery out to see if it looks like it has boiled over at all.but its a simple fix, if its internal the alternator needs to be replaced and if its external just the regulator itself can be replaced..i had the same problem on my girls lincon mark 7

Sounds like its the altenator itself to me. My Firebird did the exact same thing as your Eclipse is doing... I replaced the altenator and I've had no problems with it since... Have autozone or someplace like that test out your altenator first to be sure thats the problem, but I'm almost 100% sure thats what it is.

does anyone know if a 90 amp alternator offered by NAPA will bolt up to the stock 75 amp alternator brackets?
