E30 Hardtop on ebay

Does this sound liek a good deal? Are these available over here??The guy says they are a "grey market item" is he right??

I´ve also been looking for a hardtop (E46) and i was also looking at Ebay´s. My conclusion: It´s mostly TOO expansive there ! When you can get the hardtop (An old/used one) for about 1000-1200 US-$ i think it´s OK, but you have to remember that you have to pay a lot for handling/transportation !!!

Best thing would indeed be if you can go to the seller and see the hardtop, and if neccessary take it with you mounted on the car.

Another point is: Does the colour match YOUR car ? Or do you have to re-paint the hardtop ? I´m not into the prices in the USA, but here in Germany i got told to calculate about 500-750 Euro (Is nearly the same amount in US-$) for the repainting !

BMW will have about 2000 Euro/2000 US-$ for the hardtop INCLUDING the mounting, INCLUDING the right colour.....and then you´ll get a NEW hardtop and NOT a old or used one which has to be painted ! Ask your local dealer about it becourse i´m not sure about the prices for E30/E36 or if there maybe are problems with the delivery of these older modells.

i HAVE ONE for my E30 and buy are they worth it! espically if you like in a harsh climate...
