in a 1996 Trans Am, that is a 350 in it..correct. cause a friend of mine got one and is telling me it is a corvette engine. now she may very well be right, i'm just wondering. cause i have a hard time believeing it.

If that '96 firebird has a V8, it is a 350 cubic inch, LT1, and yes it is essentially the same engine the vette of the same year had. In a firebird/trans am it was rated at approx. 285 horsepower in non ram air cars and right around 300 horsepower in ram air models. I think the biggest difference between the vette LT1 and the "f" body LT1 is the cam profile, and computer programming, so basically with very little in the way of mods. you can stomp the piss out of corvettes with a firebird, vette owners really hate that fact! Thats the beuty of these modern day muscle cars, affordable horsepower!

alright
would a high voulme oil pump, crane cam shafts, and Aluminum lifters, 10.5:1 compression Pistons bore out her 350 cid, to 427 cid.

Need to throw in a 400 crank to get you close. The boring can be done, but be carfull the cylendar walls may become too thin. I think 432ci is the most you can get.
