When it sets in idle there is a small knocking noise comming from the engine. It goes away as soon as you give it gas but on occasion when you give it gas it just stalls, will run for about 3 minutes and stall out. Any idea's? I just bought this car and would like to get it running again ASAP so any ideas would be a great help!!!

hoo boy... could be a whole mess of stuff...
manual or automatic transmission? check to make sure your MAF sensor and other sensors are working, check your EGR valve, check your fuel filter and replace it if it hasnt been replaced, maybe clean out your fuel injectors.
do you have a rough idle? where exactly is the noise coming from in the engine? it could be timing chain noise, or (hopefully not) could be a valve... but yea gonna need more info to think of any possible solutions.

automatic transmision, the noise is comming from the front of the engine, but it seems to loud to be a lifter, the fuel filter has been changed, was thinking maybe the PCV valve was bad or plugged, planning on seafoaming it out tommorow and seing how that goes. The noise goes away as soon as you touch the throttle though, so im really lost

Does it change when you rock the steering wheel back and forth?
