I have never removed the fuel pressure regulator from my 94 Escort.
Is it easy to do without removing the whole fuel rail? It looks like I can probably get at it with a small wrench but am not sure how easily it might come out.
Any thoughts?

On a 97 it's not necessary to remove the rail to get the regulator off. The screws are straight up and easy to get to. On your 94 the regulator is mounted sideways instead of up and down like a 97. It's reccomended to take off the rail to remove the regulator, but I think it will come off without doing that. Especially if you are good in tight places.

Why are you replacing it? Whats your fuel pressure now?

Haven't fully tested it yet... just assuming it is my problem.
The car has been stalling at idle lately. I plugged the vacuum port leading to the FPR and the stalling quit... so I assume it is kaput. Can't find any vacuum leaks.
