i've always liked the look of the old chevy pickups and i want to rebuild or restore one. the problem i have is that i know close to nothing about engines and vehicles in general. how difficult is this to do? assuming i do find the chasis and body of an old chevy pickup. i probably won't be doing this for awhile. this is just a thought running through my head and i need to know if its reasonable that someone with very little vehicle knowledge can do this.

Depending on what you like, look on eBay to get an idea of what's out there and how much you want to spend.

I tell everyone, spend the bucks on the best body that you can find. Rust repair is not for the beginner and can be labor inten$ive if a body shop does it for you.

If you start with a body and chassis alone, you are in for a heap of work and will need to but LOT$ of other parts. A complete possibly running truck is your best bet. I wouldn't think of starting a project like that unless you have dedicated garage space, a load of hand tools, jackstands and a good floor jack or two. Family support is crucial to any project.
