I have a grand am se, and i dont really know what is wrong with it. I changed spark plugs cause it doesnt seem like it is running on all cylinders, but that didnt really help. It seems like the rpms are up really high when it changes gears. There is a loud knocking noise that sounds like it is coming from the exhaust pipe when i accelerate...? And when I hit about 45 and 55 the car will shake a little. and also after i drive on the highway and after about 5 miles i start smelling fumes, and its not anything that ive smelt from car fumes before, almost like burnign plastic or rubber...? If any of this makes sense to anybody let me know please. I would appreciate it a lot.

We need a little more info such as the engine you have. Also have you been getting a check engine light at all? If so I would recommend getting the codes pulled to see what's going on. I hope you changed the wires when you changed the spark plugs. If Not i would recommend that as well. Another thing I would look into is where the burning smell is coming from. Maybe one of your coil packs are going bad?! This will cause the spark plugs not to work properly bad acceleration etc. Hope this helps some.
