A/C / Heat Control

I have a 2004 sierra 2500 with a 6.o liter engine. Recently I'm unable to get the temperature to change from hot to cold with it being stuck in the hot position. I'm tried the recirc button/ hitting the a/c button repeatedly with no results. i'm wondering what kind of problem I'm looking at when i take it in.
