Hey, I orderd a Chrome Silver Base model last week. Delivery date is???? The dealer was real casual, no pressure. Explained to me that delivery can be any where from Jan-March of 03. I expected that. there was a Chrome silver touring model on the showroom floor. The price was 35,5200. A little too expensive for my budget. Plus it was an auto. Not that that is a bad thing, but I really need a six speed. I am driving a CL type S as of now. The acura is not a bad car. It has a lot of ammenities for the price and power is very smooth. I had to explain to my wife that the automatic only comes in the touring edition and it would run us 35,000. I know , I know I had to tell a white lie. The dealer had 2 models coming in Late Dec, but they werent what I was looking for. Now it is just a waitng game, but in a sense I can't think about the car every day for 4 or so months or can I?

what dealer in jersey did you order it from? (i'm in morris county)...I also have a CL-S (2001) and want to get either an S2K, or 350Z...I hope your dealer is somewhere by me, because i thought the wait for a 350Z was a lot longer, plus the mark-up prices are real scary right now...i've heard of base 350Z's going for $37,000...if you don't mind, was there a mark-up on your Z ???
..o yea, congradulations!:D

Hey Sick Type S, Are you sick of your Acura, or just plain ol' sick? :) Seriousley, I paid M.S.R.P 26,840. I live in Monmouth County. Orderd from DCH Freehold Nissan. I know the dealer will have a Brickyard Base model in late December, if you are interested. I have been checking the Sunday paper and I see that there is a New dealer located in Red Bank N.J. they are advertising 37 z's available for purchase. I haven't been there , b/c I would have to think that was a TYPO. I considered the S2000 b4 I bought the Acura, but the dealers made me sick with the mark-up prices and It kind of pissed me off. In my opinion a convertible is a lot of fun to drive especially the S2000, but when it rains or when it is cold out, It is a real pain in the butt. I think the Z is alot more car for the Money. You can get a used S 2000 for about 26,000 now, or buy a new Z for around the same price. By the way have you had any problems with your Acura? Brakes warping or tranny Slpipping? I'm just courious. Good luck to ya Man and dont rush into anything you don't really want. Be patient, you will get what you want if you play your cards right.....

i have 9500 miles, tranny's not slipping...yet...i went to the dealer the other day to get my passenger seatbelt fixed, and my right front headlight fogs up...they blamed it on a accident i had with my car...that really pissed me off...headlight can understand maybe the bodyshop f'ed that up, but they had no right telling me they wouldn't fix the passenger side seatbelt (it doesn't retract!)...the interior of the car was fine (except for the airbags popping out)...after seeing how honda/acura treats their customers as far as warranty work, i can only imagine the kind of BS i might hear if i modded the s2k!!! maybe my dealership just sucks, but it still pissed me off...after all the headaches my CL-s caused me so far to date, i'm ready to invest in a Nissan...i mean, Honda ADMITTED ALL 2001-2002 (some 2003) CL type S' trannies would blow prematurely, and gave everyone free warranties, why not make a recall??? it's a dangerous situation, i just hope my tranny doesn't go on the highway at 75 MPH!!! i've heard some scary stories of the CL-s/TL-s trannies going on the highway, and almosting causing accidents...is it gonna take a few deaths for a recall? remember the whole Firestone tire thing like a year ago???...unless i could get a REAL good price on a S2K, in the color i want...i'm aiming for a 350Z...only problem is, getting one is a beotch!
p.s. i'm going to a honda dealer with my friend (who recentley bought a S2K) Thursday, and i'm gonna see what the guy can do for me...he's cool, and my friend's known him for a few years...he's one of the few that's not one of those vultures, but we'll see...

I really like the way the Z looks, but am trying to decide whether to jump in now or wait for the convertible. I did visit the dealership in Red Bank a couple of times of the last three weeks and they are serious about having 37 Z's available to sell. Went back tonight and they practically had a new set on the floor. All together, they had 5 (!) on the floor tonight. The burgundy (brick yard?) was stunning, and there was an orange I don't really care for. Blue one that I also liked that was there last time I went was gone. Also had a silver base, but that doesn't have the traction & stability control which I want. Didn't get into pricing with them.

Red Bank is Exit 109 off of the Parkway (15 mins south of the Driscoll Bridge). Dealership is about 5 mins heading East on that road (Newman Springs). Stopped in to ask a question today, and they had three MORE new in stock. Good luck finding one.

Hey Sick type S, How did you make out with the S2000? Did you get a chance to go to the dealer to check one out?

the honda dealer said they would only give me $20,000 for my 2001 CL-S with navi...and i only have 9,800 miles....i got pissed...then they told me a '03 s2000 would be $33g's, so i would be financing 13g's!!!...IMO, that is definately not worth it...it would be like paying around 45g's for a s2k...i'm better off selling my car for like 25-26g's and getting an enthusiast model 350Z and come up with 2g's cash and have no payment...
p.s. I'm sick of Hondas/Acuras!!!

I visited World Nissan and they wanted 5K over list, then when I said no way they said 2K so I walked. Far as I know they are NOT moving many of the cars they got in.

I went back for my plates today and World has moved half the cars they had there two weeks ago on the floor. I'm happy with them... they have the cars and are entitled to make money if people are willing to pay. Better than getting the "promise of a future car that might come in sometime". Sounds like some women I know.....:smoker2:

About 1 1/2 hours south of Philly is Preston Nissan in Preston Maryland they have a Black Touring 6MT a Silver Touring AT and a Red Touring 6MT and they do not have bump stickers like they did when I ordered mine a month ago. I told them that there were other dealerships selling at MSRP. He changed his mind in less than 5 minutes and is doing it at Sticker. You just must make them realize that there are other dealers who will do it and that Nissan is planning to sell some 30,000 a year which means that all dealers will come off there bump stickers very soon.
