1998 plymouth grand voyager/rear window vents visited again

Neither rear vent window seems to work. I had my wife activate the switch while I gentle applied pressure to the rear windows to see if it was the switch or the motors. Neither window moved. Based on that I bought a "new" used switch and installed it and the vents are still inoperable. I also checked the fuses under the hood and the driver side. All fuses are good. Before I just go and start replacing window vent motors. Does anybody else have any other suggestions? I "suppose" there is the possibility that both switches I have in my possession are bad and don't operate the windows?

You can test the switch by performing continuity checks with a multimeter. You can check for voltage at the motor when you flip the switch. You can check continuity through the motor windings from the disconnected switch connector.

Neither of my vent motors would operate when I purchased my '97 T&C. I pulled the switch, and used the wiring diagram to jumper the switch connections to try and operate the motors. Still no joy. Replaced both rear vent motors to the tune of ~$60/ea. and now they work. Helps to air out the rear on a hot day.

Hardest part is finding the rear vent motors - either at the dealer or chryslerpartsdirect.com, which isn't exactly prompt on the shipping in my two experiences of ordering from them - about 3 weeks each time.

When I had the same problem with my drivers window I took apart the motor and found out why the motors always need replacing. The damn bushings don't make contact with the motor. Usually bushings have a small spring that helps make contact but these motors don't. Still trying to jerry rig something without causing a short. If anyone has any ideas I'm sure we'd all appreciate the help instead of buying new motors every few years.

Just to clarify - you are having to replace just the motors every few years? Or do you see folks replacing their window regulators all over the place, and *assume* that the motor is at fault?

I ask because I had to replace *both* of my front window regulators, but the motors seemed to work fine. It was the cable in both of them that snapped and/or frayed beyond use.
