hey everyone, ok lately my Spec has been feeling slow., my transmission doesnt feel the same, 3rd snaps in weird, my car accelerates slowly when i step on it at low RPM's like 2,500, and my engine has an annoying ticking that sounds like an old lawnmower when its warm and idling. And when i shut my car off it starts making a noise like if u were throwing tiny pebbles into a metal bucket. My exhaust got messed up again, apparently it didnt come with a rubber piece or something and i got it installed, but the noise is back, it sound like a cup full of nails when i'm in first or 2nd goin slow, and when i shut off my car it sounds like a winding disc under my car. Can someone please help me, tell me what to do, its driving me crazy, can i get something fixed through warranty? could i possibly have a 2003 tranny installed?? . if not does anyone know how much it would be to get it fixed and back to normal like the first day i got it??? thanks guys

I would just take it up to the dealer, the warranty should cover all of that, so why not use it?

and btw, make sure to check your oil....

sounds like oil to me. The pebbles could be your vaves tapping. The slowness could be a result of lack of lubrication on the piston rings...

Or it could also be too much oil, this creates high pressure and makes your engine work harder.....

ummm..i'm hopin its not the oil, cause i get my oil changed regularly at the dealer, but everytime i check it, its low, so i add more, but is there anyway i can blame it on them so warranty can fix it, cause if i have to get it fixed its gonna cost a lot i imagine? what would i need to replace in my engine?

I'm not sure if it's all Spec V's, but mine does similar things. Third gear engages with a weird noise and feel, almost like I'm not using the clutch. It too makes tiny pebbles in the bucket noise when I shut it off! Drives me nuts. I've have difficulty starting the car at times, just wont turn over. I swear....the damn thing drives and feels like it's 10 years old. I've brought it back to the dealer twice, both times they said the car was fine. Yeah right, they won't tell me the same after warranty expires!

about it not turning over, the specs have a weird fuel pump and in cold weather it is good to turn the key to ON and leave it there for about 5 sec, then turn it over to start. I haven't had these problems, but other people that have said that this fixed the problem
