96 5.7 Intermittent stalling-fuel pump?

96 5.7 Engine, Automatic, 113,000 miles.

A year ago I replaced intake gasket (FelPro), I have driven it approx. 3,000 miles since. Since doing intake it occassionaly dies on me when I start driving ( it only has died at low RPM and at cold start. ) First time everything went dead, started right back up and ran ok. It has been doing it more frequently lately, I am not sure if all electrical goes dead or not but starts up immediately.

SEL is not on/ have not checked for codes yet.

I did the fuel pump test with gauge last night.

cold ignition on (68 PSI dropped to 62 PSI after 10 minutes)
warm idle 64 PSI
Shut off PSI dropped from 64 to 20 PSI in about 10 minuttes

TODAY I taped gauge to windshield, cold started (68 PSI) drove to normal operating temperature, (62 to 66 PSI while driving)
Shut off vehicle and watched gauge it stayed at 62 PSI. (This confuses me)

WHAT WOULD CAUSE IT TO LEAK DOWN ONE DAY AND NOT THE OTHER??

Has not been tuned up for a few years.

Your fuel pressure is not the problem.
Leak down can be caused by a leaking fuel pressure regulator or line or even fuel pump check ball.
Does the fuel pressure hold when it dquits on yo?
Get a scanner on it and watch readings when it quits and check for codes past present or history.
Post back any codes.

Thanks MT. IT did not stall when I had the gauge on. I will watch. I'll get it scanned soon and post codes.

UPDATE: I checked the battery cables. I cleaned the battery side posts and cable ends with a wire brush. The positive cable going to the passenger side of the vehicle had like a brownish varnish on it ( the cable connected to the battery post itself) the bolt holding the positive cables to the battery post was correded (cleaned it up to shiney state). I have driven it daily for the past week with multiple cold starts and has not stalled on me yet. Hopefully I solved the problem. Thanks again for all advice given, appreciated very much.
