Starting troubles

I have a 2000 Durango with a 4.7, that cranks for an excessively long time b4 starting. About 10 seconds it will crank, b4 it starts. However if I cycle the ignition key 2 or 3 times it starts much quicker. I am wondering if there is some kind of checkvalve in the fuel system that is allowing the fuel pressure to drop, and not keep the fuel line charged. Once it starts it runs fine and stays running ok. This problem only happens when the Durango sits for at least 15 minutes without the key on or running. Does anybody what is going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have had the same problem and for a while thought nothing of it just old age with the 105k miles its gone through, since it was only occuring once in a while and for a week.
But that was before it stalled out in the middle of a highway in the left lane.
It was towed and they determined that it was the fuel pump. Its going to be about 750 dollars to repair it because its inside the tank. Hope you get your problem resolved but i'm sure with the durangos they'll just keep on coming.
