Murcielago engine detail

Hi

I'm thinking about superdetailing a fujimi murcielago kit. the problem is, the engine detail is very weak on that kit and it looks like I'll have to build an engine completely from scratch and yet, I can't find any satisfactory reference material.

these and another one from right side are all I could find. the first one is also from an LP640, I'm building the regular one.

so, I need some reference material. I may use the bottom part of the engine, which is supplied in the kit as a starting point and also I have a diablo engine block(very undetailed, since it comes from a die-cast kit).

I also need to know about those gigantic fans on the back of the car, there's absolutely no reference about them. I'm also planning to make those air inlets working, maybe even the doors but it seems like too much work.

thanks

Not to be dismissive or discouraging, but why bother? Sure it's a cool powerplant, but the engine in the Murcie is nearly impossible to see when it's installed. You'll make yourself crazy trying to chase down references that just don't exist, and not be able to see your work when done. If you're going to put that level of effort into scratchbuilding, why not do it on a car where your work can be appreciated?

well.... there is the point that the lamborghini V12 hasn't actually changed that much over the years since the LP400 Countach. You could take the block (from a Fujimi Enthu' kit or the Revell Diablo) and work on that.

Also, check out some pages in the parts manual, like this one. (make sure you enlarge each illustration)

For your 2nd reference, here's a link to disassembling of a Diablo engine. Each photo is small, but better than nothing.
