Just saw an advance screening of Transformers and I have to say that I was not disappointed at all. Man the movie was like being a kid again and watching the first animated Transformers flick. I totally went into the movie thinking it was going to suck and they trash my childhood memories. But you know what it was actually pretty cool. Even thou they did throw in a couple of lines for the kids, which you knew was going to happen. It has to be the best summer movie so far....
I thought the GM branding was going to be a bit to much for me to bare, but it was down played alot and wasn't in your face the whole time, and the Bubble Bee being a Camaro ... You get over it pretty quick after the movie gets going.
Not to mention that 2009 New Camaro body is sick... I'm a Ford guy I've owned 2 65s and 1 66 Mustang never have I ever wanted to which to the "Dark side" as my old man would say, until now, and I don't even like yellow!!! But there is a Black Saleen Stang in there for balance which is no slouch either.
If you want to see a really cool “Summer Movie” where you can grab some popcorn, soda and turn off your brain and watch stuff blow up. This is the movie to see….

Apparently the reason they were all GMC stuff is because it saved them a lot of money on branding. The product placement was a bit annoying but eh.

I never got to see Transformers as a kid but I know a lot of the mythology/story behind it through research :p One thing I would've liked to see would've been Megatron/Starscream banter and bickering. There was none of that besides one line.

I saw it last night, FUCKING AWSOME!

Made me feel 10 years old again, I smiled and laughed and giggled all the way through it.

To give you an idea of how good this movie is, it has everything in it, even a plot.

Quite possibly the best advertisement I've EVER seen in Hollywood. Using a skyscraper under construction to get the word out = WIN. If you're in the LA area you owe it to yourself to check it out. It's at the corner of Sunset and Vine. :thumbsup:

I saw it on the 28th, all i can say is that the movie blows my mind.

It sure beats the shitty movies of today, like fantastic 4 and shrek 3.

edit: Be sure to have a nice piss before seeing it, i was stupid and thought "i'll get in my seat first, and if i have to, i'll go piss during the boring parts." I ended up holding my piss for 2 hours because the action NEVER stops.

Hm...why'd I say Aussies? I knew you were a kiwi...I'm so0o0o off my game. Not that I want anyonet o tell me, but I'm so curious as to what Megatron transforms into.

I actually went to see it with Righthand180 last Thursday. I was ready for it to be terrible. I was very impressed. There are tons of details that were changed, that all feel a bit sacrilegious, but overall it comes out alright. Getting the original Optimus Prime voice went a long way in making to awesome.

i saw it last night and let me just say, this movie is spectacular.

i grew up with the Transformers cartoons and never thought they would make a movie like this. I walked out of the theatre and was still blown away. It was by far the best 10 bucks i have spent on a movie in over a year, easily. You will WANT to see this movie

it was pretty good. my only real problem is the song at the credits. i don't like linkin park and i hate that song. also the part with the stuff in the backyard (don't want to give anything away so i'm being as vague as possible) was a bit long but it was barely noticeable.

I hope the Simpsons movie lives up to expectations the way Transformers seems to be

It steals a BIT from Independence Day, plus they stole the coming out on july 4th/3rd thing, BUT the movie follows through with originality as well as giving the old transformers fans what they wanted. Shia can act, damn I didn't see that one coming. That girl Megan Fox, damn she's hot. And all in all it had massive amounts of action, and I got my 10 dollars worth.

Just saw Transformers like 20 minutes ago with my girl.
Loved every bit of it. Simply amazing.

Highly recommend it, the movie was well worth the time and money.

LOL at the backyard scene.. It was pretty unexpected from 30 foot-tall badass looking metal giants.

Scorpinox gets pretty torn up but escapes, Mustang forgot who he was, and starscream....

just saw it and it was one of the best movies i've seen in awhile. acting wasn't too great but the special effects were killer. goin to see it again tomorrow morning.

Barricade sort of just....doesn't show up to the fight scene, so he's assumed to be okay. Skorponok I guess is alive as well, since he just dives into the sand and disappears.

Its going to be really hard to top the original movie, though. It could just end up like pirates, going downhill with each new sequel.

i just saw it again. i didn't stay for the credits either time though. i'm going to see if for the third time next week with a friend so i'll be sure to stick around for the credits. wonder when transformers 2 will be released.

What I want to know though, what in the hell is that movie coming out? Did anybody else see the preview of the person with the camera and the preview looked like a home video? There's an earthquake and then they see a huge explosion in the city and we see the statue of liberty's head hit the streets. It's coming out in Jan. of '08 but I want to know what in the hell it is.

I am in sydney right now. I just seen the movie. I am never going to see another movie again. I don't want to ruin the AWESOMENESS of the movie by watching another. :thumbsup:

I thought Godzilla, then I remembered Japan said no more from us. That's why they made Godzilla 2000 'cause our version sucked. I liked it but whatever. Aniwho, I had a few thoughts but I wanted to wait. I hear rumors of some movie coming out like this, but I may be off.

What I want to know though, what in the hell is that movie coming out? Did anybody else see the preview of the person with the camera and the preview looked like a home video? I swear everyone is seeing this shit besides me. I heard the Air Force is all over this movie, so I definitely need to see it next week. Glad to hear the movie is living up to the hype. Hopefully Speed Racer will kick ass too

Google JJ Abrams project as it's being called or Cloverfield. There's tons of info but no answers. Apparently people knew of this before the preview, idk. Somehow the name Cloverfield was setup and so that's what it is being called right now. No it's no Godzilla. Thank goodness. I'd be so disappointed if it was that weak.

Shaping up like a freakier sci fi Donnie Darko it seems. no answers ont eh horizon, but filming has been reported in LA and possibly NYC. Just 'cause it's on the previews means nothing.

the second time you go it's so easy to notice all the retarded crap in it because you aren't being wow'd as much. there are so many things in that movie that are just stupid. it's still a great movie, but there is some retarded shit.
