Duel Fuel Tank Problem

I have a ford F150, with dual gas tanks. The front is completely full, but when I switch to it, the truck dies. I looked underneath, and there was a hose that was ripped, in the very rear of the truck. I reattached it and it still is not working. Is it possible that it won't start because the lines are completely empty from try to start it to many times with a broken line???

With a ripped line your fuel pump would have been sucking nothing but air and no fuel, an electric pump in the tank(s) would have dumped fuel all over the ground so I'm assuming that you have an older truck with a mechanical pump and a carb. Just keep cranking eventually the fuel will make it to the engine.

Something else you could do is have someone dump small amounts of gas down the carb. to get the engine to start and keep doing that for a minute or two, when the engine runs on its own you will know it has fuel in the lines again.
