1989 Ford Ranger shifter knob

I want to take my old shifter knob off to replace it with an aftermarket one but I can not find any set screw or clip of any kind to remove it and I wanted to know what trick there is to get it off.

Pull the shift knob straight up and off. No screws or clips on my 92.
