Electric cars are a mixed blessing. They do not perform as well or have the range of a gasoline powered vehicle. The energy to power these cars still has to be produced somewhere so the overall savings in pollution is pretty minimal.

In long journeys, you have to plan where and what oyu are oigng to do in detail, so you know you can top up on electricity.

Thank you, my mind was rather in math mode at 9am or so this morning...
But who gives a damn about the rather "iffy" at best future of the electric car?? GM's second-gen EV-1 shows little more promise than the first, and besides, is not one of the german companies within 5 years of releasing the first Hydrogen-powered public prototype??? It's supposedly far more promising and almost as economical and eco-friendly as electric....
