took advise and checked the wiring. Didn't get through all the wiring yet ( it was getting late) but the part I did check looked fine, I taped it all back up and started my van. Here's the odd thing, my check engine light went out!!! I am still getting no fire though on 2 & 5. Is this normal? I am going to go through the rest of the wiring to the PCM tonight. We'll see what happens, it's just odd that the light went out, when I haven't fixed the prob.

Try reseting the codes (code 43 correct?) with a scanner. Autozone does it free. No scanner or Autozone? Disconnect the battery for a minute or two. Just be aware you may or may not notice performance issues until the PCM relearns your operating data. Disconnecting the battery erases its memory. Can I take it for granted you were previously feeling a skip or miss? Do you still feel it after you looked at the wires?

Not familiar with how to work a forum? You don't need to start a new thread every time you want to say something. If you are making an "update" just type in the message block below and click "Post Quick Reply". This keeps adding posts to a single thread, as you should be doing. Cheers!

I went through the rest of the wiring last night. All 'looked' OK. Not sure if messing around with the wiring, and retaping it all did this but... I did the key on/off code test last night and all I got was code #12- and of course #55. Before I was getting those and two #43 codes. Have a scanner @ work...so I am going to reset the codes today. If this is all that is going to take to fix this van...it will be a blessing, but on the other hand I have spent many, many hours trying to fix this thing, and racking my brain...that it being this simple is kinda funny!! Thanks for the advise...it worked. I was thinking way to hard... and all I saw was $$$$ flying out of my pocket to fix this thing. I am glad that I found this site...to get advise...cause it payed off..again THANKS!

Yup, I've been there. The brite side? You learned a lot about your van. This experience will help in the future, no matter what car you have at the time.

Before we start counting ckickens, I'll wait a few days for the final good news. Please come back and confirm the fix. If it works for a while and comes back look at that wiring and connections again. There is something there.

Code 12 just means you disconnected the battery. No biggy.

well...guess I shouldn't "count my chickens"...ha ha, reset the codes...check enging light back on :{. ran another scan...got code #300. Then did another switch on/off scan...code #43 again. I read on another thread on here about a guy wanting to throw a stick of dynamite in the front seat and run....not a bad idea...lol.I am just going through fuel like u wouldn't believe...it's not like gas is $1 a gallon anymore...very frusterating!!!!

EGADS! We're gonna get it! There's just not that much to this system. First, the cheap simple stuff. You say you checked the plug wires. They can check good then heat up and fail. Try a new set. Short of that, try swapping the plug wires to 2 & 5 with other wires if they reach. Not probable but not unheard of for multiple wires to go bad.

Beyond that, the only thing left , as I see it, is the PCM. Before you go there try sending a private message to either RickMN or 1thunder. They are both very experienced techs. They may have more ideas. Make sure you refer them to both of your threads.

Here's a bit more info on PCMs: http://www.aa1car.com/library/pcm.htm

ok...here's the scoop. Bought new plug wires last night...changed the front 3, & changed #5 in the back (we all know what a pain in the @#$ those ones are...the other two are still the old ones (simply because it started to rain and I stopped) still no fire out of #2 & #5. Heres the stupid ? of the day... do all need to be changed before I see a difference? Or does it take a little milage on the van before I see a dif? I am assuming that I should see spark...if the plugs were the problem. Am I right, or wrong? Any advise?

Is this a 3.3 ? I had heard at one time that the engines with the coil pack fired multiple cylinders at the same time. Maybe a bad coil pack.

I may be able to help with some parts.... I'm parting out a '96 Voyager right now.

well all plug wires are changed as of Friday... I still see no difference. Here is another strange thing though.... The front 3 fuel injector connectors...#2 where I seem to be getting the misfire..when I pull it out you can hear a difference in the engine...same with #4....but when I pull out the third one, where I seem to be getting spark....there is no difference in the sound at all...can someone explain???

I had heard at one time that the engines with the coil pack fired multiple cylinders at the same time.

I'd almost bet money that's the problem. One of the coil packs controls cylinders 2 and 5, which are the ones the OP is having trouble with.
