325xi drivetrain vibration

I have a 2002 BMW 325Xi that has draintrain vibration. No one can figure it out. We have put rear driveshaft assembly [incl bearing and flexi], both front drive axles, front right bearing, tires, and transfer case. The dealer up here in VT is stumped. BMW is also miffed. This has an auto tranny and there is 1.5mm of in-out play of both rear drive axles. No one seems to know the tolerance for those.

Has anyone had this massively expensive problem with there 325xi and what was their repair. At this point, we're just pumping part after part in to it.

To add to the discussion, we have replaced rims and purchased a EVA2 vibration analyzer. We have spoke with Vibrate Software.com and will collect frequency data and run vibrate software 5.0.

Has anyone ever done this with a 325XI?

If it's the vibration around 70mph, check the shaft between the transmission and the transfercase for play. Transfercase has to be removed. Check play at the transmission and into the transfer case. The play in the rear shafts is normal and always is mistaken for this problem, Shafts must move in and out because of suspension movement. I've also seen a center bearing on the driveshaft and diff's cause this problem. But if yours is that around 70mph decel. sound/vibration check that shaft above seen it many times.
