1997 Yukon GT Power Steering Problem

I have the same problem and still nothing... Mine kind off pulls to the right and when I compensate it like slips to the left. Have checked all parts nothing seems loose or worn. Thinking problem has to be in the steering box. Will post if I get a strait answer

I had the same problem on my 97 yukon. I replaced the steering wheel position speed sensor and the problem was fixed. This sensor is located inside the cab under the dash on the steering column just above the brake pedal. It has 3 wires coming from it that go to a harness (plug) about 4 inches away. It is black in color, circular in shape, and rests inside a gray housing and is held in place by 3 plastic tabs. First remove the nut and bolt holding the intermediate shaft coupling in place (15mm wrench), then slide the coupling/shaft down off of the upper column. Unplug the sensor, hold the tabs out and remove the sensor by sliding it down and off of the upper column. Install the new sensor and intermediate shaft in the reverse order. You may need needle nose pliers to pull the rubber grommet around the intermediate shaft back into place in the firewall. Hope this helps.
