86 crown vic - fuel problem - HELP!!!

I have an 86 crown vic ltd that i am using for a local trailer race and i am having an issue with a fuel supply. Its a fuel injected 302 with a throttle body. The car started and ran great before I moved the started solenoid and the battery inside the car. Now that that has been done, the car wont FIRE without the help of starter fluid and then it will run, but not as strong as it did before. It turns over GREAT but no start with out the stater fluid. I thought I might had knocked some crap loose inside the fuel filter while banging the floor of the car flat to set the batteries on it. But I changed the fuel filter today and no change! What else could cause this. Its getting plenty of juice from the battery, I can here the fuel pump prime up for 3-5 seconds when the key is turned on, and when i get it running with the starter fluid, I can here the fuel pump working then to...:banghead:
