Drum replacement...

as i started in the other thread about the rear shoe replacement. i think i might go ahead and replace the drum. advance auto parts has a replacement for $22. is it a sin to only replace one drum? i know you suppose to replace in sets but i dont want to sink alot of money in this van cause i hope to trade it soon.

..a good drum is a good drum...I would not feel that guilt.... some "rules" have been made for trade...
this is not like parts that are a pain to get at and "while you are there..."...then.. I'm sure there is not a significant difference in brakink effectiveness between the two so I'd keep my money.
..WHen I had to change one on my '93 because the outside flange was cracked , it made a clicking sound when braking and I could see light through, then I concluded the other was the same breed and would certainly go the same way sooner or later....and that was the same reasoning when the outside disk separated from the hub on my '87 Taurus..which proved to be a FOrd recall afterwards....so it is all a question of circumstances, not "sins"...
