That depends on a lot of variables.

1. Your age. The younger you are the higher your rate will be.

2. Your driving record. If you've been pulled over multiple times or have been responsible for any accidents your rate will be higher.

3. The year and trim package of the car. If you bought a 2000 GP SE (3.1L V6), it would be cheaper to insure than a 2006 GP GXP (5.3L V8) or even a 2000 GP GTP (3.8L V6 Supercharged) for that matter.

4. Your location. If you reside in a larger city, your rates are generally higher also.

However, if you purchase a Grand Prix, the rates are likely to be lower than if you bought a sport compact (Tuner) because the GP is considered a Sedan, more of a family car.

When I bought my 2000 GP SE in 2002 I was paying ~$200/month for insurance due to no credit, my wife's bad driving record and my location here in AZ. Now, I pay ~$50/month for "full coverage" (comprehensive/collision/unisured/underinsured/rental/etc...). I only pay around $75/month for my 04 GTP CompG.
