My check engine light keeps coming on and off for quite some time. I had mechanic hook up for codes. I don’t recall them, but It meant a miss fire in the #1 & #3 cylinder. He got me, the care runs great, traveled to Southern Cal putting on odometer more than 600 miles round trip from North Cali. Oooops & heading back next weekend. Want take care of this before it escalates to something much worse. Its my wife car and she’s (we are)three months pregnant. Its keeping up late at night guys. Anyone have a weird clarification for my engine light issue? Thanx

Have you had the valve adjusted? This is a very common issue whith this vintage C-RV. If it is not missing when cold you may have caught it before it burns the exhaust valves.

I am also having the same problem with my 99 CR-V. I took it to Schuck's to diagnosis and a cyclinder #2 misfire was the fault code. The guy told me to replace the plugs, wire, cap and rotor. Is he correct? Thanks.

I don’t know about that! I've done all of the above with no result. The check engine light keeps coming on & off. The car has not stop running, its been a year & half since this issue started. I thinking of removing the dash and removing the check engine light bulb. Other than that the car runs great!

When my 98 started missing and threw the CEL with a #2 cyl misfire I took it to the dealer after doing the tuneup stuff. The dealer adjusted the valves and it ran fine after that. I now get the valves adjusted every 75K miles. The worst case is that if you don't get this done you will end up with burnt valves.
