Psst; RoG Porsche 962 + Mercedes SauberC9; possibly Hasegawa reboxes

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you this guys;

If you check revell.de and go to the new stuff, there are two new releases, strangely enough.

Seems like the cheeky monkeys are going further to become more of a LM oriented brand?
Who nose!

BTW; it's the porsche 962C and Mercedes C9 sauber. Both seasoned and iconic group C race cars.

Very probably, it's hasegawa rereleases, which is actually quite a good thing (curbies, but nicely molded and fitment)

That's about it, besides me thinking, well, probably not such a crappy move; it's a rerelease, and they probably don't have the budget to crap out a new tooling every two months... so they chose, well, wisely.

And a little ps; I ve seen the inboxes of revell's R10 TDI, it's pretty good! Who's got it yet?

Are you under contractual obligation not to mention Revell Germany by name in your thread title?

How very interesting that Revell.de (http://www.revell.de/en/products/model_kits/model_kits_catalogue/cars/index.html?id=207&KOKANR=01&KOSCHL=04&KGSCHL=&L=1&page=2&sort=0&nc=1&searchactive=&q=&SWO=&ARMAS4=&PHPSESSID=9ed1dc3cc21b730f53dabd33f3ac13cb&KZSLPG=all&offset=16&cmd=show&ARARTN=07251&sp=1) has a pic of a car in unedited tobacco sponsorship in their site!

Wonder if Hasegawa's TWR Jags will be next?

hehe, if only; nah, it's representing deutschland eh:)

And you're right, i guess we won't be seeing any tobacco sponsorships on those cars, a pity.

I still hope somebody out there is working on a veyron or a 997? One can only dream. In the meantime, fill up the releases with stuff like these... it's a common way of doing it these days, eh... btw, anybody heard what italeri is doing ? or heller? I heard they're doing a C4 (been hearing that for 6 months now :) )

You wish!!! (me too actually - I want the TWR racer ;) )

Interesting catch on the tobacco sponsorship photo, Andy! I'm guessing that's as illegal as heck right now in the EU.

Write and tell them - maybe they'll send you a free kit in return...who knows, maybe even a Jaggy

It would be good if the title of this thread could be changed into something more meaningfull like in this thread here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=721411

At least in that way, we will not overlook it. ;)

That being said, I'd be surprised if they are Hasegawa take-overs. Skill level 9 is inducated, suggesting they will be more that just curbsides. I have the Hasegawa C9 at home and thought it would indeed allow for an easy quick build, but, not so. Part fitment is rather poor, so they are back in the box, for when I have more time to do them properly.

Anyways, nice addition to the Revell catalog.

 Revell never tells you the real skill level until the kit is released, they always post new kits with level 9. Was already mentioned here several times.

Uff! That's goooood to know because I am only at skill level 4 and was worried that I wouldn't be able to do the model :D

...And as Revell does have an established history of rereleasing Hasegawa kits, it's much more likely that these will be rereleases than new tools.

Revell has recently reboxed Hasegawa's 944 and 037, among others. I can't imagine that they would even consider new toolings, no matter what isues the Hasegawa kits may or may not have. The only 'new' things in the kit are likely to be tyres, decals, and Revell's substandard instructions and packaging.

won't bother you much anymore in the general section then. :disappoin

Actually I understand Guido's concerns...

We should do a thread discussing all the latest releases from every manufacturer, keep it all in one place.

Whatcha think?

Great in concept, it will fail in reality.

Look how many threads on this topic alone were started.

I tend to agree with Ray on this. Great idea in theory but.......

and also great in reality, if there would be a seperate sub-forum for "New stuff". We changed our Flemish forum like that a year ago and it works brilliant. With the current set-up here, it probably wouldn't work...

Yup, same is said about a french forum beginning with an M and finishing in automobile.com . Same setup there, works brilliantly. I guess making a sticky won't work either, considering the "hesitationship" of the moderators here.

Well considering the roasting we got last time we introduced new sub-forums I for one will hesitate for a long time before going down that path again. Damned if you do, damned if you don't... :banghead:

Wake me when somebody tools up some new Aston Martins, Jaguars or current WRC cars. :smooch: Or Protar reissue that 1/12th MP4/2C. :licka:

Okay, thanks for the answer, dr.Phil. The thing is; well... it's not quite a difficult problem in my feeble little mind. It's just another subforum this time concentrating on news and new releases. But I guess making a sticky per brand on the main page just won't work either, or will it?

Just shooting some ideas, but as somebody told me lately, stop freakin procrastinating and do some models. But then procrastinating is fun :)

Ciao Phil, good to see you back!

Is it possible that these are Protar/Italeri reboxes instead of Hasegawas? I know that Protar did a bunch of Group C cars as well in the 80's (and damned if I don't want one of the Lancia LC2 kits!)
