I suspect the timing on my son's 93 3.0 Ranger is out. The mileage has gone south, it you have to crank it longer to start. I can not for the life of me find the spout connector for this thing. The label under the hood says it is there but I don't know where. I tried to trace it using the one on my F150 as a guide, but still no luck. Also, there is one side of a black barrel shaped connector
hanging loose behind the distributor. It has two wires, an orange and a black/yellow, but I can't find what it plugs into. I tried using a mirror to look back there, it is really tight to the fire wall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yippee!! I found the spout connector!!! It is up inside the metal work right behind and slightly above the driver's side headlight. Seems like a long round-a-bout way to get form the PCM to the distributor.
Noe if some one could tell me what the unused connector behind the distributor should be plugged into.

Can you post a photo showing it?

I will try to post a picture this evening. If not, it will have to wait a couple of weeks until I get back from a canoe trip.
