944s wheels

does 17 inch 996 design alloys fit on a 944s 1989?

from what my mechanic(who only works on porsche's) said, any wheel on any porsche newer than the 944 will fit on, you may need spacers for a few, but they'll fit the lug pattern.
i have 928 wheels on mine, nothing special needed to be done
