Hidden RUST

The other day when I lifted the back door of my 2000 X, I noticed rust building on the top part of the body. This is hard to see because of the door. Just wanted to share this with everyone who may not know.

I noticed rust showing from under the left (passenger side) front roof rack mount near the basket.

It is just surface rust but it is there and I live in Southern California! Must be the sea salt air!

The racks are aluminum. They don't rust. The screws that hold the basket down into the rack will rust if you don't coat them with something. I usually just put a bit of grease on them each winter. I'm sure there are better alternatives.
