i just sold my lt1 trans am and bought a 91 vr4 and its awsome,i got it for really cheap and i need to perform some repairs on it, anyways, the pass front wheel makes a clunking noise when i go over cracks in road and bumps ect, wheels are on tight and axels appear fine, any suggestions like struts or what ever these things have up front ? and second on that whole recall on transfer case, how do i know if it was performed and if it wasnt will the dealership fix it for free?
thanks.
thanks.

found a cheap VR4, huh? tell us a little more about it.
miles?
color?
pics?
price?
maintenance?
check out the FAQ thread for some good info. easiest way to find if recall has been done is to call a dealership and give them your VIN. do a search for the Recall, many threads about it. you'll learn quickly (if you haven't already) that these DOHC imports are much more complicated and a lot different from american OHV V8s. i highly suggest you get a service manual (can either get the book version for $$$ or get a manual on cd off ebay for a mere $20) before attempting any engine work like the timing belt. and before you start with the performance mods for the engine (upping boost, bigger injectors, etc etc) i suggest you look into getting a datalogger. there's a post in the FAQ (page 2 at bottom) about them.
welcome to AF!

the clunking noise could be a lot of things, does it do it only at a certain speed? i could be alignment, doubt it tho. tie rod end, strut ill even go as far to say rack and pinion, cuz thats one of the symptoms my sl has right now and the rack and pinos messed up.

seriously. throw some pics up in the pics thread.
for the clunk, my bet is on struts.
when you bought it, did the seller mention anything about the 60k maintenence? when the last time the timing belt/pump were replaced?
definitely read the FAQs. welcome to AF
