if you have enough $ and can find someone to do it, sure. But it's not a simple drop-in swap like the other F-series engines.

so im prolly looking at the s2000 engine, engine mounts, and the whole works: starter, clutch, tranny, flywheel, ecu, etc right? im thinking itll cost 10gs out the door?

No clue on price, but I would think with the price of the engine and stuff combined would be almost to $10,000 It's putting a rwd engine in a fwd car, it's not going to be easy by any means. You have to think about the rear axle, driveshaft, cutting firewall, fabricating firewall and tunnel for driveshaft, fabricating mounts (figuring out where you can securely mount it first), wiring for the engine, wiring for the ecu, wiring to get the gauge cluster to work (s2000 comes with a digital gauge cluster).

oh yeah i forgot its RWD. that factor may be just enough to the point where im getting myself in deeper than id like to. my other open options are to go with an h22 swap, but id like to try the h23v swap. not alo;t of people do it from what ive heard so itd b a unique way to get vtec, and either of those swaps are much easier... also my 92 lude doesnt have a digital guage cluster but the 95+96 preludes do, now if i just buy a digital cluster and have it installed is that all ill need? or will it turn into, once again, more time and money than its worth?

The h-series is definently the way to go. I'm not too familar with what's involved with doing the h23/vtec (not sure how different it is from doing the ls/vtec), or even preludes, but hopefully someone will be able to help you with that. But honestly, in my opinion, I'd say stick with the gauge cluster you have now and spend your $ and time on something else. But here's some info about going from an h23 to an h22a (if you have an F-series in there now it shouldn't bee too different, maybe some extra wiring like you have to do with an accord): http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t211027.html

thanks civicspoon, for all your help. i do, however, have one more question... my prelude is an si, and i am now focusing my attention to the h22 swap as its a direct bolt-in... i have been looking at buying an entire jdm front clip and taking everything and putting it on my lude. and when i say everything, i mean everything, including converting it to right-hand drive. what is involved with a swap of that nature? i want my prelude to be unique. i am less concerned with the time and money involved with converting it to right hand drive than i am with the project getting done right. does a jdm front clip come with everything ill need to make the conversion? or are there hidden problems with this new idea. thanks for helping me narrow down my options for a truly unique prelude/

if you want a RHD.. make sure the clip comes the dash forward... that way you swap the firewalls and then all the RHD parts off the clip will bolt up.

do i need to remove the engine to replace the firewall with one that is of RHD? when i buy the front clip i intend to swap the h22 engine but thatll b down the road because ill need to save some money to build the h22 before i drop that in so itll sit in my garage for a couple months... but since the clip will come dash-forward, ill have all the parts i need to convert it to RHD so im going to do that first. or am i better off just doing the engine swap and the RHD conversion all in one? or will i need the jdm engine in there to be able to convert it to RHD? this RHD conversion puts me in a realm im not too familiar with...

you need to remove the engine to replace it, and you need to remove the engine to go RHD... why not do both at the same time? and you dont need a JDM for RHD... although that would be JDM TYTE YO!
