Wiper Blades

My Mrs has a newer Chevy Impala and her wiper blades suck. She has replaced them, but they keep chattering when it rains. We've tried cleaning the windshield and blade edges numerous times, but to no avail. Anybody have any secrets on how we can quiet the suckers down?
