Could I recharge my ac by myself? Or would and should I have a professional do it? I just know that it is hot here in mi, and air would be nice!

Since you have a 91 you won't be able to do it yourself because you will need a licensed AC tech to remove all the old R-12 from the system and then convert it to R134A.

Read the previous post on this below.
Frostyfreeze, and others on ebay sell an r-12 replacement called freeze-12 that doesn't require a licence.(It's not freon.$9 /can +shipping) He also sells the can tap and any adapters you need. (I only needed the main one (fat AC line to compressor) to fill it) 3 cans fills mine.1 can of leakstop is worth considering also.

I've been doing my '91 for 3 summers without a hitch. If your compressor doesn't kick in when you first attach the can (with car running), disk the battery and reattach, it will usually kick in then to suck in the fluid. It's a 15 minute job. (ALWAYS ensure battery cables are really tight after, Regals are notorious for bad connections) Retrain the comp afterwards if you disk battery, posted also in here somewhere. E.G. Run 10 mins at idle no accessories on. 1 min car turned off. 5 mins running in drive foot on brake.

Good luck
