I was behind a car at the stop sign earlier and started to see smoke or steam coming from the front of my car. I thought it was coming from the other car's exhaust. It didn't last long and when I got home I popped the hood and saw nothing. The temp was fine, not hot at all. I know I really need to get my valve cover gaskets replaced. They are seeping pretty good. Would that possibly be what was steaming? Car has 98,000 miles on it.

If your valve cover gaskets are that bad then most likely the cause. The seeping oil normally winds up on the exhaust manifolds and burns off so you may see smoke. Plus there may be a smell of burning oil.
Also, check the bottom part of the engine and look for any oil leaking from the oil pan and/or rear main seal.

I checked underneath a while ago and it was seeping. I wiped everything down but I'm sure it's still doing it. I know the garage floor has a bunch of little oil dropletts in the same general area. Looks like it's time for some gaskets...I'm sure labor on this job will cost a fortune!
