94 villager headlight problem

The passenger side headlight does not work on low or high beam. I have replaced bulb and it worked for a short period of time, since it is not working again I switched it to the driver side and bulb works on that side. I am thinking bad connection at dimmer switch (High beam light stays on whether on low or high beam, driver side does switch from low beam to high beam)
Can I use contact cleaner on the dimmer switch without removing it?? The headlight switch is on the dash left side. I have checked for power at the light socket but have none.
