I have a 1992 f150 with the 300 i-6. It does not have air conditioning. I guess the guy who bought it new wanted to save a few bucks. I am considering puting air conditioning in it. Has anyone installed it before. I was wondering if it would be worth the cost and trouble. I know it would be easier to trade it in for one with air, but I would prefer to keep this truck. Any advice would be appreciated.

find one like it and pull all parts related to the ac but that is alot of parts down as small as the control unit for the temp and airflow and fan its easeir to just deal with no ac or trade it off

Im My Opinion I Agree With Cjbarron Its A Lot Of Work To Do But Everything And Anything Is Possible. I Say If You Have The Time And Another Vehical To Drive While You Are Doing It Yourself AND You Dont Mind The Hassle Do It Yourself. But If The Truck Has Been Giving You Problems And You WOuld Not Mind Another Or New Truck Live With It While You Shop Around For A Great Deal. =)

I agree with one of the previous postings, find a junked truck with factory air and strip all the parts off of it, get EVERYTHING including the electrical connector for the compressor, every single tiny little part that is under the dash, and all the mounting brackets for the condenser unit that is bolted in front of the radiator.
You -may- be able to order all the parts from the Ford Dealer but it is going to be expensive.
