Dont know about you, but around here in cali theres rumors that if your car fails smog, that cops will come out and check you for illegal mods and if they find any, they crush you car. Which would be pretty shitty. Anyone know any more on this. Im still trying to find some info.

head over to OT and check in the current afairs forum, there's a discussion going on about this.
over here (in the UK) if you're caught after an accident without insurance, your car can be crushed and you can be put straight in jail.
nope, i ain't kidding.

I heard about crushing cars in Cali but only if your street racing... They just did a story about this in the Los Angeles Times, some dudes were street racing in Rialto/Riverside area and they got busted. However, they only crushed their cars because there was stolen products on their cars.

well, it all depends on how bad the damage is. if it's written off you can't get the car on salvage retention either. the police own it and scrap it themselves.
i think (but i'm not sure) that your car can be crushed if you're driving without insurance, even if you don't have a crash.
it's part of a huge crackdown on uninsured cars over here.

i think they should do as the one guy said in that vid, part the cars out, LA has enough bullshit problems, god only knows how much parting out a car can get them in money, do enough of them and they maybe be able to pave a couple roads.
crushing a car(granted it is a civic, and i hate) when running is stupid, it's a waste of that companies money and time to have done the work to create and build that car, then after what was maybe a yr or two it's useless. how bout the state donates it to some charity for people who could really use a vehicle.
