i have a 2003 chevy cavalier 2 door completely stock and i just recently boughrt a dual 200 watt 7inch tft touch screen dvd/cd player and i can not figure out how you get the old stereo out of the car i pulled the clip out thats on the left side but theres also a round black chord that runs directly in to the stereo and theres no way to take it out of the head unit period i even tore the whole head unit apart the black wire is wired directly into the stereo and the other end of that black wire shoots back through my dash i need information on how to get that stereo system out of there completely without having to cut through that black chord thats a major pain especially since my new head unit cost me 500 dollars and i wanna see it in my car PLEASE HELP ME !!! HAHA thank you very much

Do you have a special stereo like the GMLAN or anything? OnStar eqipped? That does indeed sound like an antenna.

Ive heard that newer cavaliers(if not all chevys) need a special wiring harness to hook up aftermarket players. not sure if its true or not. and just a thought, you paid $500 for anything Dual, u got ripped.

I know you need a special harness if you have the GMLAN setup and want to keep it, which has various info and data displayed onto the stock radio display and is part of the extra features like OnStar and such. And +500 on the Dual comment.
