i just added more info to my post in the FAQ (page 2, last post) about Dataloggers. check it out.
however, that IS a good question you have: how to tell by inspection that your car is a 94-95 hybrid ECU. first of all, i would just check by the build date of your car, but this can be confusing. i'd bet there is something different about the diagnostic connector, but i don't know for sure.

alright, so basically with my 94 im sort of shit out of luck, because my only option is the miragecorp for $250, correct? although the HHH (http://www.handheldhalo-datalogging.co.uk/store/hybrid_product.htm)looks pretty good, which in US is $107? looks like that HHH deal comes with cables and software, so i would just need the palm or laptop? could i use my phone (http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/E62)? it looks like the HHH package is compatible wit usb for laptops, so if i download the software into my laptop, could i then transfer the software into my phone via phone-usb cable i have?
p.s. that last sentence of the third paragraph on the HHH site is what bothers me...grrrrr
