warranty

hello fellow forum readers Im in need of some info my son has a gmc canyon 2006 with 18000 miles on it the engin lite came on & my friend put it on the tester to get the # & it shows cylinder #3 is misfireing they said it could be the coil but my question is the warranty what the standered warranty 3 years 36000 miles & where do I take to any gmc dealer please any info about where to take my sons truck would be most greatfull thanks richram
