Okay I know guy selling a 95 atx Sho.w/102000 mi He wants like 500 for it I like my 93 but allot of problem I really like the 95 he is selling. Looks real clean and when it tries to start sounds smoth lol. No oil in wells or anything looks real nice. The guy said he can not get it started its Electrical problem. He said he had his friends mess with it who are For Certerfied ford mechanics but who knows. I brought my batt there put it in tried to start it but no luck I pushed the fuel presure relief in and fuel came out I did the KOEO test it came back with CODES 335 & 565 would these keep it from starting? He said he was going to replace the Crankshaft Pos sensor next but just rather get rid of it. Would the Crank Sensor keep it from starting? It does try to turn over like i siad sounds smooth when it does. As smooth as a car car could sound during start..lol..Aslo it has some sort of cold air intake with it looks like K & M filter on it. Just a note I notice a couple wires that where cut and taped back togather 1) SOLID YELLOW was cut and taped togather also has one of those plastic clips on it like the one you would used to tap into a wire without cutting it. you clip it on the wire and the the other half to another wire, but there isn't wire coming off the othe side there might have been at one point but maybe cut it away also a white wire w/red stripe that had like a 6 in piece missing but they replaced it with some other wire to make the wire whole again and the only other thing I want to mention is it does have a alarm ..I think I see the siren under hood and key pad is on the key chain but I didn't notice any alarm ewuipment under dash but just could have missed it. I really like this car any info you can give me would be great....

I don't think the code 335 would keep the car from starting. Code 336 could be pointing to an exhaust restriction, but you'd probably hear that in the exhaust when trying to start it. One way to check for an exhaust restriction would be to pull the oxygen sensors and attempt to start it. If it now starts, it's got a plugged exhaust, and that's likely bad catalytic converters. If they are plugged, that could be due to the DPFE which the code 335 would point to. The DPFE on Fords of this era were known for failing.

Have you checked for spark? I'd suggest you do that. If you don't have spark, certainly suspect the crankshaft position sensor (also common on the SHO engine) or the ignition module. Be aware that the ignition module is getting rather difficult to find. This particular part number was only used on the V-6 SHO and Thunderbird SC if I recall correctly. I happen to have a spare, untested one in my garage if you find that to be the problem....

If the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) is faulty, be prepared for a new timing belt, water pump, and tensioners while you or someone else is in there. Usually what causes the CKP to fail is coolant leaking onto if from the water pump.

Does the yellow wire that was cut appear to be in the area of the warm air intake? If so, this may be an indication that your friend fell for the guy selling the $0.05 resistor on eBay and calling it a perform chip. These get installed in place of the intake air temperature sensor and convince the PCM that the intake air is actually cooler than it is to lean out the mixture. They don't work as advertised, but maybe that's what inside the tape.

What about the CODE 365 CANP solenoid circuit failure Not really sure what that means? How would I check for spark? Would I just Have some one try to start as I pulled one wire of the dist./coil pack and see if I get a little buzz? Or do I pull the clip out and see if I get some kind of voltage across my volt meter? Sorry I didn't by any repair manuel for my 93-sho as of now I have been to busy fixing the things I know how to. But really wqant this 95. If I threw another Crank sensor in would it start and run rough? or not start at all . Ill check spark first and if there is spark then pull the o2sensor and try to start. How would I know if engine is blown? Never seen a blown engine before. Like I said it tries to turn over. The yellow is going into the steering colum..maybe airbag???? This is a guy I seen selling the car I don't know him but he said he had his 2 buddies who where ford certafied look at it. I was going to give up i figured they would know but then I was reading on here and a couple of other sites and it seems like not all ford certified mech. are like right on the money so to speak

Oops, I misread the code numbers. My fault. Your code description for 365 would be the canister purge solenoid circuit failure. I wouldn't expect that failure to prevent the car from starting. That would be more of an emissions code and possibly a fuel tank venting issue. You mentioned that you got spray from the fuel rail schreader valve, but it may be worth putting a guage on the fuel rail to make sure the fuel pressure is where it should be in case the purge solenoid is not allowing the pump to pressureize the system properly.

Do you know how long the car has been sitting? Any chance the fuel is bad from sitting too long?

What it really comes down to is you need air, fuel, spark and compression to get the car started. The air and fuel must be in the proper ratio and the spark must be properly timed. Now you need to determine which of these is missing.

I have found through my own experience that the crank pos sensor does not prevent it from starting. That is at least on my 2002 Taurus. Mine started with the crank pos sensor and cam pos sensor unplugged. From what I have heard from a Ford technician, it will start with them unplugged but NOT if they are plugged in and bad. I also found from experience (changing head gasket) that there could be a vacuum leak. When I put the car back together after changing the head gasket I forgot to hook up a vacuum line on the upper intake and it would not start. Made a huge difference. FYI-I am no expert, this is just what I have personally experienced.
