Ok I need to ask the pros! Finally I just got an engine for really cheap.
It is the 1.8 and came out of a 1990 acura integra with a 5 speed. Is this engine the b18a1 that has 130hp? Do I need the harness out of the acura. Is this engine bolt right for my 91 crx si or do I need to make any modifications to my engine compartment? How about the ecu, Is this ecu the obdo? can I use the stock ecu from my crx? Do I need to convert to MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) and does the existing tranny in my crx work with this engine? Will the tranny cable work with the integra engine? how about the axels? How easy is this swap? Do you know of anyone or have done this particular engine swap? Will this swap be a substantial advantage for me since I plan to use this car for autocross? I would appreciate any input you have.

im pretty sure you need to convert to obd1 harness but im not sure, your gonna need a b series tranny, d series parts wont go with d series...therefore you need...
engine (complete)
wiring harness
axles
tranny
shift linkage
ecu
i dont really know if you need to convert to mpfi:confused: thats about the extent of my b series knowledge hehe

If he has the Si or Hf, no. DX Yes.

No, he clearly said he has an Si....
but the "Do I need to convert to MPFI (multi-point fuel injection)" could simply mean he shouldn't be doing this swap on his own ;)...
No offense to anyone... but peoples... if you're even going to THINK about changing out engines in you car... at least get to know the one you have in there already before trying anything you shouldn't yet.:flash:

if you have an si you dont need the teg harness, just use your stock si one, it will plug up fine. The teg ecu should also work fine, and plug right up since a 90 teg is obd0. although the bolt holes wont line up like stock, just cram it in there ;) also try snagging the axles and intermediate shaft from that teg as well as you will need those. you need to take a small metal piece out of your hub, and a small plastic ring off the outside of your axle as well....oh yeah you will need the aftermarket mount kit... www.jdmshit.com sells hcp mounts for pretty cheap, check them out

k i am just gonna start at the top. i know some of these have been answered already but i too lazy to look which ones.
yes the 90 b18a1 is 130hp. no you do not need the harness out of the integra. yes you do need to make modifications, like youll need motor mount adapters and youll need to bang in the frame alittle to make way for the alternator. yes the 90 b18a1 ecu (pr4) is obd 0, so it will plug into your stock si wiring harness. no you do not need to conver to mpfi since your car is already mpfi and your d series tranny will not work on the b series motor, youll need a b series tranny which you can get fomr the 90 integra. you need axles from a 90-93 integra so if you can get the axles plus the intermediate shaft, you will need them. the difficutly of the swap depends on your automotive knowledge, have you ever taken out a motor before ? do you know how to install parts on your car, like if i said go install a cam would you know how to do it ? do you have all the tools needed to swap the motor in ? do you have an engine hoist ? if you said no to anyone of these questions, i would take it to a shop and let them do it but you can always risk it and do it yourself

Yeh its pretty easy swap. Its like dropping a zc in but with custom mounts and axles. Anyways like Trailer Trash said its a non obd so you don't have to worry about converting from obd0 -obd1. Just so you guys know that obd1 started in 92 and ended in 95.:)
